Well its really common at the part of mexico where I live XD, the norther part, we use it often, it is not that mean, is like, instead of using mommy or mom you use ”ama” to refer that you are already grown up and no longer want to refer to your mother like mom or mommy,no longer the little one of mommy, XD gotta say the Spanish got me surprised and also the ”ama” knocked me hard, I was like .-. ohmai LOL I love black adventures more now! Sometimes names get literally translated, it was common way back in the depression era and such for foreigners to be given the English equivalent of their name after immigrating to the US. But then people never used those cause they were so used to their original so eventually that stopped happening.
Hilbert’s spanish name is Lucho, which I think sounds derpier than Hilbert :u
Negro doesn’t just mean BLACK GUY (though people who read it that way probably laughed the most); it’s also a cute nickname in some countries, puerto rico included
