Ive been thinking. Why are water types weak to electric types? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? I mean.. if you throw some water onto an electrically powered thing it’ll kill that thing. Generally… in Water v. Electric.. water wins, amirite?

Well, it comes from the fact that water is traditionally associated with being a good conductor of electricity. While pure water is actually a rather poor conductor, it still proves to be a hazard nonetheless in lightning storms. If anything, Steel should be weak to Electric due to metals being exceptional conductors in many cases.
Water-types mostly stay in bodies of water.
Electricity hits water.
Everything in body of water is electrocuted.
Being electrocuted cooks your insides.
Living things that get cooked alive tend to die.
