I’m undecided about going back and changing everything to their official English names… I’ll definitely change all the city names, but I wanna keep some of the characters as they are, like Bel. As for Isshu/Unova, I’m just gonna go with New York.

There is actually a lot of subtle hints/evidence that Unova/Isshu IS based on New York (and American culture in general) besides the whole Pokemon Musical.
