Even though I have been following this comic from about Lenora’s gym battle, I didn’t actually comment until now. God I’m so late. But I have to say that I love you so much for making this series, Black. Crossdressing, epic fight scenes, fanservice, art shifts, Ho Yay, hilarity…it just…I have no idea how to tell you you’re awesome.

This is an amazing series, and so wonderfully different from the usual stuff one would expect from Pokemon. The amount of characterization you’ve added to all the characters, the mix of plot, humor and delicious fanservice… it’s a great story.

Sure, we’ll most likely see Joseph, Mary, and Jesus, but I’m most concerned about seein’ someone else. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Ghetsis sometime next chapter, or maybe even the one after that dependin’ on how Black’s plannin’ on doin’ the plot. Seriously, in the games, he’s in Accumula Town, and he was there in the comic. Then he was in Castelia, in both the game and the comic. Next spot in game? Driftveil City. At this rate, I’m willin’ to bet we’ll see him there. I can only imagine the confrontation this time… Now then, that aside, you may return to your “hnnng”ing at this chapter’s endin’! ^^

I hope Black will be nicer to N from now on – though N certainly hasn’t done his part to encourage it. N will have to tie his hands behind his back from now on whenever Black attempts to kiss/otherwise be nice to him.
But seriously, although it’s played for laughs, N’s inability to accept even such a minor gesture of affection as a smile, despite cleary wanting it, make me really sad. T_T Especially since he can show affection, but not accept it. I think it provides a lot of insight into his childhood and his relationship with Ghetsis who obviously doesn’t care about him. It also kinda explains why he would latch onto Black so quickly instead of looking for someone who would actually treat him decently – he’s not expecting to be treated decently. It’s just… reallyt subtle but really heartbreaking.
Or maybe I’m just reading too much into it, but whatever.
(Eh, and I guess he did react normally when White hugged him out of the blue in chapter 7, considering he doesn’t like her.)
^ This. If you’re reading too much into it then so am I, but seriously, there’s so much subtle stuff. Like how happy N gets at very simple things. T0T Also, he thought White was ATTACKING him when she hugged him.

Argh, now that I think about it, you guys make a lot of sense ;_; N, oh, N.
It’s weird, but seeing N push Black away actually made me really happy this time. Before, we have scenes where N freaking PUNCHES Black. Here, N still rejects Black’s attention, but instead of hitting him, he just pushes him. I interpreted that as, even though N still can’t seem to process kindness, he’s trying to control himself for Black’s sake.
Another sign of this I noticed, though it’s more subtle, is on the last page when N catches himself when he’s going on about formulas. It’s like he’s becoming just that little bit more self-aware in front of others. :)
Even though I felt differently there, though, I TOTALLY agree with your interpretation of N. Hopefully we’ll get to read some tear-jerker scenes further down the pike that go deeper into what makes him tick–at least, deeper than the games went.

That’s a good point about the pushing/punching thing. I thought it was just because it wasn’t a *kiss*, but your theory is much sweeter. ;_; Especially coupled with your point that he catches himself with the formulas. It makes me hopeful that N will be able to repair his social skills and someday live a happy, normal life.

I would say you’re not alone, but What Elesa mentioned last week about white made me root for Elesa/White.
In that case, I’m part of the 0.5 percent who roots for N/White.
I root for Joy/Jesus in that order… I don’t know the percentage for that and it isn’t incompatible with other main pairings, though.
